About Our Cakes
Pastries by Design is a natural bakery that uses fresh ingredients and makes every part of each cake from scratch. From the silky smooth buttercream made with real butter from a local farm, to our rich chocolate cake, you will surely taste the difference.
All our cakes are four layers with three layers of filling (including the sheet cakes) and are baked fresh to order.
If you can dream it, Pastries by Design can make it into a cake! A set of golf clubs for dad, a favorite team logo for the groom, a basket of lilies for mom… the possibilities are endless! Custom cakes are priced individually according to the design chosen. Detailed sugar designs can significantly increase the price of your cake. We love a good challenge so don’t be shy and bring in your ideas!
Please note that to ensure that the design is perfectly customized to Pastries by Design standards:
- Orders must be placed a minimum of 72 hours in advance. It is not uncommon for busy seasons to book up weeks in advance.
- Please note that depending on how intrincate is the design of your cake, we will require more time to prepare all the decorations for your cake (3D sugar characters standing up, sugar flowers, details for carved cakes. etc.)
- Please ask for our front store cakes for last minute orders.
- If you have your heart set on a cake from Pastries by Design, it is best to place your order soon as you have a date set for your event. A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking reserve your order.
To define the price of your cake, we need to define the size first, this is, how many guests are you planning to serve with your cake? See our table below to give you an idea:

*Note that you will get less or more servings from your cake depending on how big you cut the slices.
Our single tier cakes are price on a per person basis and this price depends also on the combination of flavors that you would like to have in your cake: $4 per serving for basic flavors, $5 for specialty flavors and $5.50 for Supreme flavors [use the smaller number of servings accordint to each size to calculate the price)
Fondant covering is available for $1.25 per serving for all cakes.
Liquor syrup soak is $0.50 per serving for all cakes.
There is a stacking fee of $15 per tier (i.e. for a two tiers cake, the stacking fee is $30, for a three tiers, the stacking fee is $45, etc..)
Any round or square cake can be tilted for and additional $0.75 per serving.
Carved cakes start at $7 per serving and must be ordered for a minimum of 15 guests. Intricately detailed and 3D carved designs are priced at a flat-rate basis depending on the quantity of time a designer will spend on making the cake perfect! Please note that not all fillings are suitable for a carved cake (we recommend butterceam fillings).

Make your cake that extra bite adding Amaretto, Kahlua, Rum, Brandy, Cointreau, Grand Marnier, Baileys.
- Vanilla Buttercream

- Cream Cheese Icing
- Buttercreams: Strawberry, Raspberry, Mango, Orange, Pineapple, Coconut, Mocha, Coffee, White chocolate, Mint, Lemon, Honey Almond, Maple Pecan, Dulce de leche, Hazelnut, Piña colada...
- Custards: Lemon, Key lime, Coconut, Vanilla, Chocolate, Mango, Peach. Roasted Banana, chose these flavors with or without cream cheese icing
- White or dark Chocolate Raspberry: White chocolate buttercream or dark Chocolate buttercreamand ganache & Raspberry preserves
- Tropical delight: (Coconut Cream & Pineapple)
- Mousse: Chocolate, white chocolate, strawberry, mocha
Cream cheese: Peanut Butter, Raspberry, Ginger
- Fruit [Strawberry Shortcake, Blueberry, Peach] Shortcake: Fresh strawberries, Fresh blueberries or Peaches in light syrup with delicious Whipped Cream Cheese icing
- Boston Cream: Vanilla or chocolate pastry cream with dark chocolate ganache
- Ganache: Dark or white chocolate fudge.
- German custard (coconut and pecans)
- Black Forest filling (Black cheries soaked in kirsh with chocolate fudge)
- Almond Joy custard
Allergies / Diet
We are happy to do our best to accommodate allergies/dietary restrictions including vegan, dairy, soy, nut, egg and sugar-free.
Gluten free are priced at $5 per serving. Sugar free or vegan cakes are priced at $6 per serving. In all cases minimum 10 servings. Flavor selections may be limited and additional charges may apply based on the flavors selected.
Most basic and specialty fillings are naturally gluten-free.
Please remember, Pastries by Design has all of these ingredients on property and although every precaution is taken, we can never 100% guarantee there is no cross-contamination.
